Grad 2019 – Information

MAY 26:  PLEASE NOTE Grad Dinner Dance Venue Change

 Due to unexpected delayed construction with The Inn at Laurel Point and Transport Canada, we have decided to change our graduation venue so that our Grads of 2019 have a beautiful hotel and sensational view for their pictures and dinner/dance. We are pleased to announce that we are now hosting the Mount Douglas Grad Dinner/Dance across the harbour at the Delta Ocean Point Resort

Students are to arrive by 4:50 pm for Grad Group Picture on the Harbour side of the hotel. The pictures will be taken between 5:00 and 5:15 so all students need to be there by 4:50 for picture set up.  Students and families can arrive earlier for pictures if you like. Once the professional photographer has done our group shots he will move inside and take pictures of individuals, or small groups.   Pictures and mingling can continue and then students will take their seats at 5:45 pm.  Dinner will be served at 6:00 pm. Guests can arrive between 7:30 and 7:45.  The Dance will conclude at 10:00 pm. There are no sanctioned Mount Douglas Graduation events following 10:00 pm.   Monday is a regular school day and students are expected to attend just like any regular school day.

May 8, 10, 13, 14, 15 in the Career Center at lunch.  

Please be sure to purchase your ticket on one of these dates. You will pick your seat in a table of 12 when  you purchase your ticket.

Guests arrive between 7:30 and 7:45. Guest tickets are $20.00 each.

 Grad Gown Distribution in the foyer: ​Grads are to pick up their grad gowns in the Mount Doug foyer at lunch on Tuesday, May 7th.  If you can not make it on May 7th then come May 8, 9 or 10.

April 12 – Grad Write Ups due and submitted online.  (Mr. Norris provided details at the grad assembly on Feb 14th)

April 17– Mandatory Grad Assembly in the gym during FLEX for ALL grads.  We will also hold Valedictorian Speeches and Vote during this grade 12 assembly.

Grad Ceremony Tickets- currently on sale for $7.00 each. Max 4/family.   Mount Douglas Cash Online or in person at our accounts window.  Gets yours early!

May 2– Guest forms for Grad Dinner Dance are due on May 2nd. Guest forms can be found on our school website under the GRAD 2019 tab.

May 9, 10, 14, 15, 16:  Grad Dinner/Dance tickets:   Tickets will be $65.00  (Grad tickets are subsidized by the grad council to keep the cost to  only $65.00) Guest tickets will be $20.00 each for the dance.

May  14, 15, 16:   Grad Gown distribution in the foyer at lunch.

May 23:  Grad Ceremony Rehearsal at UVIC. Go to first class and then we will walk over to the UVIC auditorium at 10:00 am  for the rehearsal.   Students should be back to school around noon to go to afternoon classes. You do not need to bring your grad gown to the rehearsal.

May 23:   Grad ceremony at UVIC.  Arrive at the auditorium steps no later than 5:00 pm. (please leave time for parking)  5:15 set up for grad photo.  Grad Photo will be taken promptly at 5:25.  Ceremony at 6:00.  Reception in the UVIC Commons for all grads and guests immediately after the ceremony approx 8:15 – 9:30
