Senior Science Internships
There are two important internships that are available to senior students at Mount Douglas. The High School Internship at the BC Cancer agency is for grade 11 students and the YES Fellowships in Vancouver are for grade 12 students. We have had many Mount Douglas Students attain these prestigious opportunities to work with Science researchers and gain a bursary for university. Last year Anish Sivakumar had a great experience at the Center for Drug Research and Development, now re-branded as adMare BioInnovations at the UBC campus. In 2018 Danielle Tsao spent her summer doing Cancer Research here in Victoria.
Both of the opportunities require a nomination from the school. The Cancer Research Internship nomination has many students applying for it so that there is an application process for the Science Department to determine our two school nominees. Applications for this are due on February 10. The YES Fellowship applications are due on March 6.
The attached PDF explains the internship processes and the information is also posted on the Science Bulletin board across from room 214. Mount Doug Science Internships 2020
We will be holding an information meeting on the internships and other science opportunities on Wednesday, February 5 in Room 219 at Flex.
Please email Ms. Kucher if you have other questions or cannot attend on that Flex day.
