MD ECO finished this year’s activities with a clean up of the Mount Douglas Park Beach on Sunday, June 7. Students collected over 250 cigarette butts as well as lots of plastic and glass pieces. A big concern was finding syringes on the beach which were carefully collected and reported to Saanich Police!
MD ECO also did three invasive plant removals this winter on Mount Tolmie using funds from Saanich’s Wolf Den program for funding for some of the equipment.
MD ECO plans to start next year with another Clean Up of Mount Douglas Park Beach on Sunday September 27. Any student is welcome to join the group and make a difference!
